Well, first of all, let me tell you that I was a teacher in Angleton for 16 years and am now blissfully retired. However, while I was teaching, it was a wonderful place to work. The schools are top-notch. The teachers care about their students. Sports is a priority, but so are academics. And now they are about to complete an entire building for trade and technology education. Not everyone is cut out for college, thank goodness! Where would we be if everyone went to college to become the next CEO or financial master, and there was no skilled labor to build our houses, fix our plumbing, stock our stores, or work on our cars? How many people know how to tile a bathroom, replace a roof, or put up a fence? When was the last time you welded something? What about our restaurants? Dont we all love to eat out? Many of the people who cook the food and serve our tables are not college educated. But all of these trades are necessary and many times, unappreciated. But I digress....
Angleton has one high school (9-12), one junior high school (6-8), and 7 elementary schools (pre-k4 - 5). Since there is so much growth in Angleton, they are all busting at the seams and administration will definitely have to address this problem in the near future.
